The DreamHappy Foundation Donates Needed Supplies to Summer School

Date July 7, 2011

School supplies, including pencils, scissors, crayons, pens, paper, glue, markers, notebooks and colored pencils were presented to Casa Guadalupe Center’s Education Coordinator, Sharon Gonzalez, to be used for the Casa Guadalupe Center’s Summer School Program. These supplies were gathered as part of the DreamHappy Foundation’s Happy Packs campaign, an initiative which enables learning by ensuring that children have the school supplies they need.

Supplies were donated to the Casa Guadalupe Center Summer School Program. The program serves mostly inner-city students in grades first through tenth in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvanian. Specifically, schools which have a combined average of 50 percent or more of their students scoring in the bottom 25 percent in the state in reading and math test scores. The Casa Guadalupe Center Summer School Program is working to close the achievement gap by providing students with extra help during the summer. As education coordinator, Sharon Gonzalez put it “One day at a time, we are making a difference.” The support of the DreamHappy Foundation in providing needed supplies helps to ensure that difference is able to be made.

DreamHappy’s Founder, William Weaver states, “We are proud to be able to offer these supplies to this great cause. We thank the Lehigh Valley for making this possible along with Eliezer Vélez and Sharon Gonzalez for working with us to see this through. We are sure the children will have a rewarding time during their summer at the Casa Guadalupe Center Summer School Program”.
