As we continue to expand our activities, so do we grow our team. We are excited to announce Elizabeth Dee as a new member of the DreamHappy Foundation’s Board of Directors. Elizabeth is a 5th generation candy-maker and co-owner of Smarties Candy Company. She is known as a “Jane of All Trades,” with experience ranging from research and development and food safety to communications and branding. She has specialized in digital media since 2006 and holds a Master of Arts Degree in Media Culture and Communication.

Ms. Dee is honored to serve on the Board of the DreamHappy Foundation. She practices and advocates for compassion and freedom for all and is a firm believer in Gandhi’s idea of being the change you wish you see in the world. The DreamHappy Foundation’s mission to help children and families in need is directly in line with her dedication to serve others and provide the information and resources so that all may live happy healthy lives.

Excited to be a part of the DreamHappy Foundation, Elizabeth states, “DreamHappy’s campaigns are simple and effective: They provide materials to those in need. No child should go without necessary school supplies. No person should be cold in the winter. Yet, these are realities suffered by many in our communities, and they must not be ignored. It’s easy to forget that inaction is action. It is accepting the status quo. So long as there is suffering, there is work to do! It is our responsibility and privilege to contribute our time, energy and resources to be on the right side of history. The status quo isn’t good enough. It’s time for action! I support DreamHappy’s work to ease the burdens of those in need. Will you join us?”.

Welcome, Elizabeth!

DreamHappy Foundation’s combined efforts with XCEL Federal Credit Union this winter to collect and distribute blankets and jackets across New York and New Jersey was a tremendous success. XCEL generously appointed drop-off points at select branches in NJ and NYC. Staff members and volunteers were constantly on the move handing out donations to individual families and shelters alike.

Winter is very hard for those without homes, or the resources to heat their rooms. For those commuting to low income jobs, the jackets provided were essential. There’s nothing worse than spending ten hours at work and then an hour at the bus stop, cold. Warm hands are a luxury not everyone can afford.

“We thank XCEL Federal Credit Union for their gracious support. With their help he have had the chance to help many families through-out the Northeast.” states William Weaver, Founder of the DreamHappy foundation.

The DreamHappy Foundation will continue to do its best for the New Jersey and New York areas, collecting jackets and blankets again next year, no matter the forecast.

New Jersey Children and Families charity, the DreamHappy Foundation, has partnered with XCEL Federal Credit Union to collect new and used blankets for those in need this winter.

XCEL has graciously offered three of their branches as drop-off points to help collect blankets for DreamHappy’s annual Comfy Quilts campaign. The selected branches are:

XCEL Operations Center
1460 Broad Street
Bloomfield, NJ.

XCEL NYC Office
26 Fed Plaza-Room 1702
New York City, NY.

Path Station Office
Journal Square
Jersey City, NJ.

Kennedy Blvd Office
3680 Kennedy Boulevard
Jersey City, NJ.

“We are very excited by this opportunity XCEL Federal Credit Union has given us as we start to settled into our new home state of New Jersey.”, said DreamHappy Foundation CEO, William Weaver, “We are looking forward to making a positive impact for those who need our help this winter.”

“As the holidays quickly approach, we all take stock in just how lucky we are,” added Linda McFadden, CEO of XCEL FCU. “Helping out others is an everyday obsession but especially so during the holidays. We are grateful to the DreamHappy Foundation for allowing us the opportunity to spread a little Christmas cheer.”

The DreamHappy Foundation had success in last year’s Comfy Quilts blanket drive, helping many families in women’s shelters and family homeless shelters.
